What Does Yuzen Mean?
Yuzen describes traditional Japanese patterns originally designed for silk kimonos prized for beauty, premium craftsmanship, and attentiveness to detail. Today, these patterns are incorporated into intricate handmade Japanese paper, known as Yuzen or Chiyogami. We strive to have our Yuzen box embody the same attentiveness to premium quality and beautiful design. When making selections for each box, we always look for excellence, mission, and integrity before we put it to our Yuzen test—evaluating its performance, experiencing the benefits first-hand, and then sharing our favorites with you.
What Am I Getting?
You will receive your first box soon after you subscribe (unless current boxes are sold out). We send you a little Zen for every season – a box for winter, spring, summer, and fall…Four boxes in all. (sent November/December/January, February/March/April, May/June/July, and August/September/October). Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.
How Is Yuzen Different From Sample Box Subscriptions?
Yuzen offers a box of elegant items to subscribers every 3 months. We have seen the emergence of the sample box trend, but many do not offer products that are eco-friendly, natural, or organic. We also focus on the experience of relaxation, pause, and delight that each box embodies. Our selection is carefully designed for a well rounded offering presented in an elegant package. Many of our products are premium sample-sized and can last a long time, and each box is valued at much more than the subscription price. We recognize that consumers have begun asking where they can find the purest and best quality products, but are often overwhelmed by all the choices. Each Yuzen box is carefully curated to provide amazing, healthy lifestyle products you can trust.
Do Yuzen Subscriptions End After One Year?
Our regular subscriptions do not have an end date. You may cancel most anytime, but if you are canceling close to our billing and shipping times (February, May, August, November), we ask that you cancel before the 1st of those months.
Yuzen Gift Subscriptions automatically end after one year (four boxes). To extend a Gift Subscription past one year, please contact us before the subscription expires.
When Will I Receive My First Yuzen?
We do our best to send out Yuzen boxes to new customers and gift recipients right away (unless we are sold out). For ongoing subscriptions (from your 2nd box forward), boxes are generally sent out between the 5th and 15th of February, May, August, and November to ensure you start each seasonal cycle with a little Zen. Yuzen subscribers are charged for their 2nd and following boxes between the 5th and the 10th of each February, May, August, and November. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
What If I Order During the Later Part of a Season?
You will be sent our current season’s box based on the month and season you purchase. We will send out boxes to new subscribers and gift recipients every week (as long as we have boxes in stock).
When Will I Be Charged For My Subscription?
Your credit card will be charged for your first box when you place your subscription order, and if we have our current box in stock, we will send you a box very soon. If we are sold out, your initial payment will be used for the next seasonal box.
If you received a box immediately after ordering, you will be charged for your 2nd box between the 5th and 15th of the next seasonal cycle (November, February, May, or August). For example, if you purchase a subscription on July 21st, we will send you a Summer box right away (as long as we have boxes in stock). Then, you will be charged for your 2nd/Fall box between August 5th and 15th, your 3rd/Winter box between November 5th and 15th, and so on. This allows us to send out your boxes early each season. Then you can start the season with a little Zen!
