I remember chewing on the rubbery fruit roll products of the ’80s and ’90s. The seeds were still in it, and it came in one big blob that I had to tear away from plastic wrap. I still can recall the sound it made as you tore off a piece of a the fruit roll – it was very similar to the sound of pulling scotch tape.
But now there is a new fruit snack that is organic, vegan, and yummy, called Matt’s Munchies. We are pumped to have them as a part of the October Yuzen eco gift box. A long-time vegetarian and finicky snacker named Robert decided to create his own wholesome, satisfying munchies that would support a healthy lifestyle. He was a banker by profession, but Robert soon took over the kitchen and six months later, voila! Chef Robert emerged with amazingly tasty and nutritious premium fruit snacks. Robert named the new product Matt’s Munchies after his son, Matthew, who helped develop the unique flavors. With intentions as pure as their products, Chef Robert, Matt, and Sous Chef Linda (mom) seek to brighten the snacking landscape together with their exciting munchies.
Matt’s Munchies is an excellent healthy option for on-the-go people or for school lunches. They’re made with organic ingredients, and are certified vegan, gluten-free, and kosher. They’re handmade in America and have fewer than 100 calories per package. What separates his family’s product from similar ones, Matt says, is the fact that they have these certifications and use only premium ingredients.
The snacks come in 9 flavors, including Island Mango, Chili Chocolate, Chocolate Nana, Ginger Spice, and Raspberry Delight, which is made with organic banana puree, organic raspberry concentrate, and semi-sweet chocolate. “What we’re trying to do is build a brand that’s fun, cool, hip, and healthy,” says Matt. “There’s something very special about making a healthy food product, because you’re offering a form of nourishment and satisfaction to people that differs from another service or product because it’s food. There’s a great energy in our factory. We’re happy, and we love what we do, so I think that gives our product the magic touch.”
