We love the outdoors and are always looking for things to hold us over when on the trail or ski slopes. We came across a great company that not only feeds people with an active lifestyle but does it organically. Honey Stinger is a Colorado based company that was founded in 2002 and located in Steamboat Springs. The company was founded by an athletic entrepreneur who wanted to bring honey based foods to active people like himself partnered with a beekeeper and a food developer thus the company was born.
Currently Honey Stinger is known in the active outdoor communities that attract people to the Colorado Rockies such as skiing, biking and other endurance sports. But they are also available in supermarkets such as Whole Foods and are a great snack item for on the go people or for kids. The energy chews are USDA certified organic which means that 95% of the ingredients are approved organic. They are an excellent way to get a boost of energy at work or during exercise and the fact that they have organic options is such a plus. There are so many energy bars, gels and other items available but few are organic and taste good. If you are exercising for a long period of time having some every 30-45 minutes keeps blood sugars elevated which increases endurance. Honey stinger energy chews are also gluten free and made in facilities that do not process gluten. They are not vegan due to the fact that honey is made from bees. We love the taste of their chews, energy bars and Stinger Waffles and the effectiveness of their energy gels. The sponsor a pro cycling team so they must really work not just for us but the big boys! If you are in need of some pick me up when you are exercising or a healthy treat for your kids Honey Stinger is a great option.
